Bulletins

March 2, 2008
On Sunday night at 3012 Hallwell Dr., someone got
into both our cars (cars were parked on the street in front of the house), and
stole a
Garmin Nuvi Navigation system and several CDs. The cars did not look
broken into.

A
HOME ON WARRINGTON WAS BURGLARIZED ON Wednesday, DECEMBER 19TH AT
APPROXIMATELY 1:30pm. They came in through the back yard and busted down the
back door. This was in broad daylight and most of the surrounding neighbors
were home! Please arm your security systems, lock your gates to your backyards,
and lock your doors to your garage.
If
your security system is not currently being monitored, you are welcome to
contact CIS at 972.241.2299 and ask for Robert. He will be happy to assist you
with all of your security needs.

Around
approximately 12:30pm/1:00pm on Monday morning, a white male in his late
20’s/early 30’s drove up to a house on Hallwell and parked in front of it. The
man got out of his car, approached the door, looked under the mat and then ran
his hand around the trim of the front door. Apparently, he was looking for a
house key that may have been left outside as so many of us often do. After not
finding one, the man got back into his car (slate blue or smoke colored economy
car) and drove off onto Warrington towards Midway. The homeowner was home at
the time and witnessed all of this. She phoned the police and they came out and
took a report. The officer advised the homeowner to call our neighborhood crime
watch officer to come and evaluate the safety of their home. This is a
FREE EVALUATION that the city of Plano
provides. Our crime watch officer is Officer Dawson.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE EXTRA HOUSE KEYS OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOME, UNDER A
DOOR MAT OR IN A FLOWER POT BY THE FRONT DOOR.
Be extra
cautious this time of year – and always! There have been too many incidents in
neighborhoods, at the malls, and even in grocery store parking lots in
BROAD DAYLIGHT! If you have any suspicion
at all about a person or situation in the neighborhood,
DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL 911.
Have a
safe and happy holiday season!

Dear Neighbors,
My name is Susan Dean, I'm the new Wyndham Hill crime watch captain.
I'm in charge of alerting fellow neighbors about any crime that may
be happening in or around our neighborhood.
I'm asking for all of you to help me with this task. If you witness
anything unusual on your street or have been a victim of theft, please
contact me so that we can spread the word around our neighborhood and
prevent an act of crime before it affects you and your family.
My home phone # is 972-403-3932. My email is
susan.dean3@verizon.net. A fellow neighbor Lisa Olschwanger has also
volunteered to help me with this project, if anyone else would like to
help be a block captain, (keeping in touch with any
news on their street) please let me know.
I'm enclosing the first crime bulletin I've received.
Thanks,
Susan Dean
Suspicious Person Seen In Glen Meadows
You may recall a month or two ago a neighbor in Glen
Meadows was stopped by a man who said he just moved
into the neighborhood and needed gas money to pick up
his wife. He gave a fictitious address. He's back and
may have brought a friend. We know of at least five
people who have been approached this past week in our
neighborhood and in the Villas of Glen Meadows to our
south. The following information was given to us by
(or reported to) the Plano Police:
Description: Caucasian, approximately 6' tall, brown
hair, receding hair line, very thin, 40 years old.
Dresses well, talks fast.
Name: Michael Berry (goes by "Mike")
Vehicle: Black (or dark) 2006 Ford F-150 with body
damage in the front LICENSE PLATE #73MYN3
Description of Friend: Caucasian, approximately 5' 6"
tall, approx. 130 lbs, blonde hair, military style
cut.
This man is stopping cars, pan-handling in yards and
is now going DOOR-TO-DOOR asking for money for (a)
gasoline; (b) his wife's car needs a jump; (c) she is
in the hospital at Presbyterian Hospital; or (d) a
similar story. A neighbor in the Villas gave him
money when he said he was the owner of a property for
lease over there (he found out what the owner's name
is) and the neighbor believed him.
According to the police, he has been all over North
Dallas, Plano, Allen, Frisco and surrounding areas
since 2004. He has been very visible lately in West
Plano, mostly off Midway. He is a "bad character." If
this person comes to your door the police suggest
saying "hold on let me get some money for you" lock
the door and call 9-1-1 (or consider doing so
immediately after he leaves your property). They need
to be called while he is still in the area. DO NOT
tell him you are calling the police.
Right now all they can get him on is a violation of
soliciting without a permit and driving without a
valid Driver's License. So far there have not been any
physical altercations nor has he been confrontational.
If someone says no, he just moves on. He may have a
possible drug problem so, of course, this could very
well change.
These two individuals have been knocking on doors over
the past week in our neighborhood and in the Villas in
the mornings around 7:30am, with the truck parked
close by. We have requested additional police patrols
in Glen Meadows and these should start immediately.
PLEASE remind your family not to open the door to
anyone they do not know and keep your doors locked!
Be sure and report similar incidents or if you see him
or his vehicle call the police immediately (9-1-1) so
they have a better chance of arresting him. If you
e-mail gmha07@gmail.com we will also share updated
information with neighbors.
